Here is step-by-step process of one our favorite Christmas gifts that we made this year (and of course that you can use/make all year round). We picked up these wood slices from a local Christmas tree lot.
Here’s what you need to know in order to make these yourself:
1 || Cut the wood log with a saw or jig saw. Sand the slices for smooth surface.
2 || Pop them in the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes to help dry out the moisture.
3 || Spray two coats of Shellac (you can find this at Home Depot or Lowe’s) on both sides of the wood slices. Let them dry.
4 || Paint two coats of chalk board paint on one side of the wood slice. Let it dry.
5 || Use chalkboard markers to write cute things.
6 || Spray one coat of Shellac to seal.
7 || Enjoy!
